Inquests were inquiries conducted upon decedents to determine cause of death. With the exception of one inquest directed by the Spotsylvania District Court, all inquests listed herein were conducted under the direction of the Fredericksburg Hustings Court (Circuit Court after 1941). Records in the searchable Inquest database can be accessed by decedent's name or cause of death.
