Originals of all records presented on the Historic Court Records website are available for research at the Fredericksburg Circuit Court Archives located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Photocopies of the records may be ordered by mail.

The Fredericksburg Circuit Court Archives, located at 601 Caroline St., Fredericksburg, Virginia, is normally available for research at the following times:

Monday through Friday
9:00 a.m. to 12 noon
1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Notice! ! ! The Archives is scheduled to close from July 25, 2014 to August 6, 2014 for relocation to our new home in the New Fredericksburg Courthouse at 701 Princess Anne St. (Suite 100). We apologize for the inconvenience, but look forward to greeting our patrons in a brand new location adjacent to the new Circuit Court Clerk's Office Record Room. Researchers will no longer have to visit two sites to find records. Additional information will be posted soon.

The Archives is closed on weekends and all federal and state holidays.

Due to limited research space and staffing, it is recommended that appointments be made to use the Archives.

Appointments for research at the Archives can be made by calling 540-361-4098 or 540-372-1066.

Public parking is available in the Sophia St. parking garage adjacent to 601 Caroline St. (enter the garage from Wolf St.). The first three hours of parking in the garage are free.

Public parking may also be available on nearby streets (usually with a 2 hour limit) and in city parking lots located along the river about 3 blocks from the Archives.
